Spartanburg Neurological Services, P.A. began in 1990 as a solo
private practice serving the greater Spartanburg area. We have
evolved into a group practice with four neurologists
representing several subspecialty areas including adult
neurology, clinical neurophysiology with EEG and evoked
potentials, neuromuscular disease including academic quality
nerve conduction and electromyography laboratory services,
epilepsy with appropriate diagnostic services such as EEG and
inpatient video-EEG monitoring, sleep medicine with a
free-standing laboratory and participation at two hospital-based
laboratories, stroke medicine with a fellowship trained
cerebrovascular disease expert and neurovascular laboratory,
autonomic disorders laboratory, and developing a
neurorehabilitation program appropriate for our community's
needs.
We have recognized the need for a diversified practice that
commits itself to the growing needs of our community in size,
complexity, languages, and emergency neurological medicine. As a
group our physicians are involved in planning committees in
hospitals, institutional review boards, clinical research
bringing new treatments earlier, physician and technical
education, community services, public education in
neurosciences, and opening specialty services such as the
Muscular Dystrophy Association Clinic. We have inpatient
services at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center and Mary Black
Memorial Hospital. We provide consultative services at Upstate
Carolina Medical Center and staff a clinic in Gaffney. Our
physicians and staff can communicate in nine different
languages. Currently we are providing input into the hospital
systems to create the best practice standards. In emergency
neurological medicine we are helping to organize the best
management methods for acute stroke and transient ischemic
attack.
The clinical knowledge of a subspecialized neurology practice is
advantageous to our community and growth will continue as we add
new physicians and services |
